Houston Schools is implementing changes to its middle and high school parent pickup routes for the upcoming school year to address traffic flow and congestion. The district categorized pickup into three categories:
- High school only: From First Street, turn east onto Pine Street and loop in front of the middle school building before turning west onto Ozark Street and exiting at First Street.
- Middle school only: From Walnut or Spruce streets, turn east onto the parking lot between the softball fields and Tiger Fieldhouse. Following pickup, turn north and leave on Walnut or Spruce.
- High school and middle school: Use the same travel pattern as described above for middle school only.
The district encouraged all drivers to follow posted signs and staff directions.
“We appreciate your cooperation as we work to streamline traffic and keep our students safe,” school officials said online.
