A California man has been charged with domestic assault at Raymondville following an incident Monday, according to court documents.

Marvis P. Jackson Jr., born in 1992, is accused of throwing a woman to the ground, punching her in the face and nearly ripping her shirt off. A deputy observed bruising on the woman’s left side of the neck, bruising behind her right ear, red marks on her chest and some scratches.

The victim alleged Jackson had been using methamphetamines.

Bond is set at $2,500 cash.
