An inmate at the South Central Correctional Center at Licking died Thursday afternoon, the Missouri Department of Corrections said.
Arlen Jones, 86, died at 1:41 p.m. in a medical unit.
Jones was serving a 30-year sentence for three counts of first-degree statutory sodomy of a person under 14 years of age resulting in serious physical injury from Mississippi County.
Jones had been in prison since May 2016.
Jones died of apparent natural causes, the department said.
