Sales tax revenue in Houston, Cabool and Texas County was steaded by online and out-of-state sales in June, according to a recent report. 

HOUSTON

A one-cent sales tax earmarked for parks, police and fire generated $83,997.25 in June. That’s down $1,248.36 from the same period a year ago.

A one-cent general sales tax increased $130.36, totaling $86,235.80.

Two quarter-cent sales taxes – one for transportation and one for utility work – each totaled $21,000 in June. That’s down $311 from the same period last year.

A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases increased $4,266.20, totaling $15,212.72 for the month.

CABOOL

A one-cent general sales tax totaled $33,005.68. That’s an increase of $135.34 from the same period last year.

A half-cent sales tax for transportation needs totaled $16,502.90 in June. That’s up $67.68 from the same period last year.

A half-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $16,340.13 for the month.

A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases increased $3,022.38, totaling $10,443.80 for the month.

TEXAS COUNTY

For Texas County, merchants collect three half-cent sales taxes. Each totaled $117,194 for June, which represented a decrease of $3,613 on each from the same period a year ago.

The sales tax on online and out-of-state sales totaled $101,268 for the month. That was up $32,119.73 from the same month in 2024.

Revenue from a three-eighths-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $81,618, which was down $2,516.16 for the month.
