A musical is set for performance early next month at the Melba Performing Arts Center in downtown Houston.
The STARS Foundation will perform “Seussical The Musical Jr.” on Friday, Aug. 1 and 8, and Saturday, Aug. 2 and 9. Each starts at 7 p.m. The Saturday matinee is at 3 p.m.

CASTING CALL
Those interested in joining the cast can send an audition video to director Rebecca Peterson at 417-254-3168. It should be limited to 1:30 minutes. The deadline is 3 p.m. July 27. Rehearsals are 3 to 6:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, July 28-31 at Opus in Cabool.
The music director is Mary Colbert.
