Two Plato residents — including a 6-year-old child — were injured Wednesday afternoon in an accident on I-44 in Laclede County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Tpr. K.T. Moore said the crash occurred as a trailer-truck slowed for heavy rain and was struck in the rear by an eastbound 2005 Mitsubishi operated by a Plato woman, 20.
Two occupants of the car — ages 6 and 26 – were taken by ambulance to Phelps Health with minor injuries. Everyone was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle was totaled.
