For the 14th consecutive year, community members are invited to unite to pray for county schools.
The Prayer Zone Challenge is 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, inside Tiger Fieldhouse at Houston Schools. The annual event is hosted by the Houston Ministerial Alliance.
The gathering will include worship, a brief devotion from Pastor Jim Millspaugh of Life Church and prayer stations for community members to join together to pray. Each station will be led by a local pastor.
The first Prayer Zone event was held in 2012 featuring a rally, erection of a billboard in town and yard signs distributed to community members. The Houston Ministerial Alliance has continued to facilitate the effort to pray for schools since that time.
