Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Aug. 20 and 21.

Members:

  • Were presented Leann Green’s resignation as Boone Township clerk. The board recommended Sharida Green to replace her.
  • Held a public hearing for the county’s property tax levy. No public comments were presented.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Jeff Malam, Pierce Township, concerning the Corp of Engineers.
  • David Scantlin on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and township progress.
  • Glenn McKinney offered the American Legion to be the point of contact for staffing the historical museum on Grand Avenue.
  • Joe Dixon with questions concerning Sargent Township.
  • Don Stilley on Turley Road.
  • George Sholtz concerning the proposed Road and Bridge question on the November ballot.
