​​The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:
Between Aug. 18 and 24, the Houston Police Department answered 236 calls for service and initiated 72 traffic stops, resulting in 17 citations and 75 warnings.
- On Aug. 18, officers arrested Rickey Prewett, 44, on a probation and parole warrant. Prewett was incarcerated in the Texas County Jail without bond.
- On Aug. 18, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Florence Street for a runaway juvenile. Officers found the juvenile safe a short time later, and he was returned to his parents.Â
- On Aug. 19, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at U.S. 63 and Highway F. After the investigation, it was found that a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice driven by an 89-year-old male was turning south from Highway B when it was struck by a 2017 Toyota RAV4 that was driven by a 76-year-old female. No injuries were reported.Â
- On Aug. 19, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Rebecca Barton, 41, of Houston. During the stop, it was found that Barton had a suspended driver’s license. Barton was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail, where she was fingerprinted and cited for driving while suspended and failure to provide insurance.Â
- On Aug. 21, while patrolling, an officer observed a vehicle parked along the roadway with its hazard lights on. The officer made contact with a 43-year-old female, who advised that she and a 42-year-old male had been involved in a domestic dispute, and the male took off walking. The officer located the male subject, who advised that they had been in a verbal altercation. No evidence of a physical assault was found, and the subjects were advised to stay separated for the evening.Â
- On Aug. 22, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Sam Houston Boulevard for trespassing. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Thomasina Shaw, 39, of Cabool, who had been previously trespassed from the business. Shaw was cited for first-degree trespassing and released.Â
- On Aug. 23, officers arrested Dakota McCallister, 30, of Mountain View, on a Texas County warrant per charge of nonsupport following a traffic stop. McCallister was transported to the Texas County Jail, where he was incarcerated with a $10,000 cash or surety bond.Â
