​​The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

Between July 28 and Aug. 3, the Houston Police Department answered 205 calls for service and initiated 36 traffic stops, resulting in 10 citations and 36 warnings.

  • On July 28, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on U.S. 63 near Chestnut Street. Following the investigation, it was found that a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 was traveling north on U.S. 63 towing farm equipment that had an equipment failure and struck a 2020 Ford F350 that was traveling south on U.S. 63. No injuries were reported.
  • On July 29, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Sam Houston Boulevard for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, it was found that a 2024 Nissan Altima had been struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene. This investigation is ongoing. 
  • On July 30, officers received a report of an identity theft. This investigation is ongoing. 
  • On July 30, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Florence Street for an animal attack. During the investigation, it was found that a dog was being walked off-leash by its owner when it went into a neighbor’s yard and was attacked by another dog. This investigation is ongoing.
  • On July 30, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of West Chestnut Street for a report of a domestic dispute. Following the investigation, it was found that a 36-year-old female and a 41-year-old male had been in a verbal altercation over personal property. Both parties separated for the evening. 
  • On July 31, an officer arrested Mason Mayberry, age 23, of Willow Springs, on a Willow Springs Municipal warrant per charge of defective equipment. Mayberry was taken to the Texas County Jail, where she posted a $65 cash bond. 
  • On July 31, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Dylan Daniel, age 30, for exceeding the posted speed limit. During the stop, Daniel was found to have a suspended driver’s license and to be impaired. Daniel was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail, where he was issued citations per charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended and exceeding the posted speed limit. 
  • On Aug. 1, an officer conducted a traffic stop on David Fairchild, age 51, of Summersville. Fairchild was found to have an active Cabool Municipal warrant per charge of failure to register a motor vehicle. Fairchild was placed under arrest and transported to the Texas County Jail, where he posted a $40 cash bond. 
  • On Aug. 1, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of South Sam Houston Boulevard for a domestic dispute. Following the investigation, it was found that a 31-year-old female and a 37-year-old male had been in a verbal altercation. Both parties were advised to stay separated for the evening. 
  • On Aug. 1, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Florence Street for a dog running at large. Benjamin Foster, age 32, was cited for allowing an animal to run at large.
  • On Aug. 1, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Sam Houston Boulevard for a theft. During the investigation, it was found that a male subject had stolen $207.44 in merchandise. This investigation is ongoing.
  • On Aug. 1, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Florence Street for a dog running at large. Sarah Odom, age 28, was cited for allowing an animal to run at large.
  • On Aug. 2, officers arrested Cassidy Dodds, age 19, on a Texas County warrant per charge of failure to properly affix a license plate. Dodds was transported to the Texas County Jail, where she posted a $120 cash bond.
