We wish you a safe and happy holiday!
Do you have a Texas County Library card in your billfold? If not, why not? They are free and can be used to check out books, DVDs, e-books and use our computers. Celebrate National Library Card Sign Up Month with us for the month of September and come in to get your library card!
Our name sign has now been installed on the front of the new building – TEXAS COUNTY LIBRARY. We are just a couple of months away from planning to be in our new Houston Library. There are a lot of working parts to this move – completing items inside and out of the building, organizing the move process, and continuing to purchase items we need. Our contractor and his crew have been hard at work and are doing a beautiful job. All library staff, especially Houston, are working very hard with the process of moving books. I want to thank each and every one of them! We have some excellent volunteers as well – so grateful for them. At some point, in September, we will have to close the Houston branch for at least two weeks, but hopefully not that long. This is only temporary so we can do the move properly. Be thinking about one of our other wonderful branches (Cabool, Licking, or Summersville) you can use in the meantime.
NEW BOOK ARRIVALS INCLUDE – “Tomlinson’s Wake” by Randy Wayne White, “Knife in the Back” by Karen Rose, “Derringer” by William W. Johnstone, “Dark Victory – The Life Of Betty Davis” by Ed Sikov, “For Duck’s Sake” by Donna Andrews, and for kids – “Mr. Fox’s Game of No” by David LaRochelle
Friends of the Library needs Friends! Ask how you can become a part of your local Texas County Library branch’s Friends group.
