A vehicle ran off U.S. 63 Monday afternoon in the middle of a storm that included hail north of Houston.

Authorities said the vehicle left the highway north of Twin Bridges and went down an embankment at about 4:45 p.m. The Houston Rural Fire Department responded; the driver of the Toyota Corolla was not injured, the state patrol reported. The vehicle had extensive damage.

Volunteers with the rural fire department were on scene for nearly two hours.
