A man from Licking allegedly eluded Houston police during an attempted stop Wednesday night.

Roger Lee Counts Jr., born in 1999, is charged with a felony, aggravated fleeing. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

According to a report, Counts was the driver of a vehicle that failed to stop at a posted sign on Holder Drive and again onto South Highway 17. The Houston Police Department attempted to stop him, but the vehicle continued, according to a report. At one point, the vehicle slowed down and pulled to a shoulder before taking off again, a police officer noted.

A deputy later encountered the vehicle on Route 17 near Route 137 at Yukon. Counts was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail.
