“Taste of Christmas” is set for Nov. 29, returning the annual event to the weekend after Thanksgiving.
“This will be better for families baking together for the holiday,” said event organizer Cassie Carter. “It will also be on Small Business Saturday, hopefully meaning more customers will be in local stores that weekend.”
For the event, local businesses sponsor a category to host and residents enter food items. Residents visit locations and vote for their favorite in each category. Winners are determined by top votes. There is no cost.
Those wishing to enter the contest must bring their food item to the appropriate location before 10 a.m. Participants have from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to sample the treats and vote.
Businesses interested in participating can text Carter at 417-260-4674. Locations will be announced later.
