Three persons were injured Friday — including a 4-year-old boy — in a northwest Texas County crash that totaled two vehicles, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Tpr. Jason Sentman said a northbound 2014 Ford Fusion operated by a 36-year-old Calico Rock, Arkansas, man attempted to overtake a northbound 2003 Peterbilt truck driven by a 29-year-old Salem man when it struck a southbound 2018 Ford F-150 operated by a 29-year-old Plato woman that was turning onto the roadway.
The Fusion then struck the Peterbilt and traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking a mailbox before coming to rest on Route AW about one mile south of Evening Shade.
The accident sent three to hospitals: The Ford F-150 driver and a passenger, a 4-year-old boy, were transported by private vehicle to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital with minor injuries. The Fusion driver had minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital.
Both Fords were totaled and the Peterbilt had minor damage. Everyone was wearing a seatbelt except the Fusion driver.
Members of the Roby Fire Department assisted at the scene.
