Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol recorded its first fatality of the Labor Day weekend on Sunday evening, it said.
Tpr. Z.L. Ricker said a westbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado ran off the right side of Route 72 in Reynolds County, overcorrected and went off the left side of the roadway, overturned and ejected the 46-year-old Bunker man who was not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.
It is the 24th fatality in Troop G this year. At the same time last year, the number was 15.
