Two hires and a resignation were acknowledged during Texas County Commission meetings Sept. 17 and 18.

Commissioners acknowledged the resignation of Andrew Parrish as a full-time deputy in the sheriff’s office effective Sept. 14. Trenton Lathrom was hired as a full-time jailer effective Sept. 14.

In the collector/treasurer’s office, Gianna Westlund was hired as a deputy collector effective Sept. 24.

OTHER MATTERS

  • Commissioners reviewed and approved a liquor license for John R. Knetzer dba K&R Trading Post.
  • A contract with Tiger Commissary – a jail meals provider – was approved.
  • Discussion concerning National Forest Title III, a Walmart credit program, technology and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) took place.
  • State Rep. Bennie Cook visited with commissioners.
  • Commissioners attended the 100-year celebration of Evans Funeral Home.
