A Cabool woman faces third-degree assault charges after a child was injured Sunday, Sept. 21, authorities said.
Patricia J. Hodgson, born in 1990, faces the class E felony count. She made $1,500 cash only bond.
According to a report, Hodgson admitted to slapping, punching and throwing rocks at the victim. She admitted she could see swelling to the child’s facial area and admitted she could see her knuckle imprint. After the incident, a deputy reported the suspect left the residence.
The child was transported to Texas County Memorial Hospital for treatment and was admitted due to a possible brain bleed.
The Texas County Sheriff’s Department said Hodgson was convicted in June 2010 on an endangering the welfare of a child charge.

You didn’t know me when you lived in this area. I knew your mother when she was a young teen and was sorry when that horrible accident occured. No joke, I was actually thinking of you earlier this week. I seldom run into your sister Patricia but was planning on asking her about you if and when I did. I hope you are doing well and are happy wherever you are. When your mother’s family lived at Tyrone my family was living there too. My son went to school there with several of Carol’s brothers and at least one sister.
