A Cabool man faces multiple charges, including rape, after a Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation on Saturday, Oct. 4.
Texas County Sheriff Scott Lindsey said deputies began an inquiry into sexual assault after a woman reported an incident that occurred on Sept. 28 at a Cabool area residence.
Lindsey said the woman reported going to a residence and meeting Christian Simmons. The victim reported being provided with intoxicants that may have contained additional sedatives.
Lindsey said the victim reported losing consciousness, and the suspect subjected the victim to sexual contact and choking. The victim was able to provide additional electronic evidence indicating an admission of an assault committed by the suspect, Lindsey said.
Lindsey said deputies located Simmons at his residence, and he was arrested. Simmons invoked his legal right to not make a statement about the allegations.
Simmons, 33, of Cabool, is charged with rape – first degree and domestic assault – second degree. He is being held in the Texas County Jail on a no-bond warrant signed by Associate Circuit Court Judge Brad Eidson.
The Licking Police Department assisted in the investigation.
