Two letters requesting funds for domestic violence support were reviewed by members of the Texas County Commission during meetings Sept. 24 and 25. 

Members approved a request from Agape House for funds and delayed a decision on funds for Christos House, pending more information. 

Members held a discussion on the Senior Homestead Tax Credit ballot question with the assessor and collector. A letter from the collector in response to auditors concerning the Tax Maintenance Fund was requested. 

OTHER MATTERS

  • The Commission reviewed and acknowledged the resignation of Justin Kinder as a full-time jailer effective Sept. 18. 
  • Sheriff’s office purchases out of Title III funds for equipment to be utilized in the national forest were approved. 
  • Updates on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) projects, the county historical museum and concerning solid waste management and Ozark Action Inc. were heard.
