The Texas County Fair Board is postponing its fundraising golf tournament one weekend due to forecasted inclement weather, the organization announced Thursday.
The tournament, which was scheduled for Saturday, will now be played Saturday, Oct. 25. Proceeds will benefit the group’s facilities on North U.S. 63.Â
The tournament will feature sessions starting at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the number of flights determined by entries. It is a two-person scramble. Registration is $100 per team, and participants are encouraged to play in each session with different partners.
There will be cash prizes on every hole, insurance and 50/50 games, extra mulligans and a skins game. Payouts are $350, $250 and $150 for first, second and third places.
All proceeds from the tournament will be placed in the board’s building fund to raise money for new air-conditioned bathrooms, a cook shack and a kitchen, organizers said.Â
For more information, to sponsor the tournament or register, call or text Matthew Price at 417-247-7041 or contact the clubhouse at 417-217-2736.
