Between Sept. 29, and Oct. 5, the Houston Police Department responded to 205 calls for service and initiated 18 traffic stops, resulting in three citations and 19 warnings.

On Sept. 29, officers were called to the 800 block of Holder Drive for a subject who was trespassing.  Officers located Steven R. Caraveo, 31, of Houston, inside the building.  While questioning Caraveo as to why he was at the location, a smoking device was located that contained white residue that field tested positive as methamphetamine. 

Caraveo was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and trespassing.  A short time later, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of South Sam Houston Boulevard for a theft from a vehicle.  Upon arrival, the victim stated several tools had been taken from his vehicle.  Officers later charged Caraveo, for stealing over $750 for the theft of the tools.  He was held in the Texas County Jail on a $2,000 cash-only bond for the theft and the drug charges.  The tools were later recovered, and two other subjects have pending charges for receiving stolen property.

On Sept. 29, officers received a report of a theft from the 1800 block of South Sam Houston Boulevard.  The investigation is ongoing.

On Sept. 29, officers cited Christopher T. Brown, 31, of Houston, for operating a motor vehicle without a valid operator’s license.

On Sept. 29 and Sept. 30, officers were called to Bryan Street three times for an animal running at large.  Officers cited James M. Evans, 40, of Houston, three times for allowing an animal to run at large.

On Sept. 30, officers arrested Rex Wood, 62, of Houston, on two active Texas County warrants per charges of DWI-persistent, tampering with a motor vehicle, driving while revoked/suspended and a probation violation for an original charge of possession of controlled substance.  Wood was transported to the Texas County Jail, where he was held without bond.

On Oct. 1, officers arrested Melissa K. Conrad, 39, of Houston, on an active Houston Municipal warrant per charge failure to signal.  Conrad was transported to the Texas County Jail, where she was able to post the $90 cash-only bond and was released.

On Oct. 2, officers received a fraud report from a resident.  The investigation is ongoing.

On Oct. 2, officers received a forgery report from a resident.  The incident took place in another state, and officers are working with that jurisdiction.

On Oct. 2, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Arrowhead Lane for a burglary and theft.  Residents returned home to find evidence that someone had broken into their residence and had taken items from inside.  The investigation is ongoing at this time.

On Oct. 4, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Ozark Street for a fraud investigation.  The investigation is ongoing.

On Oct. 4, officers initiated a traffic stop on a 57-year-old female from Houston for a traffic violation.  During the traffic stop, officers found two glass smoking devices that contained a white residue, which later field-tested positive as methamphetamine.  The female was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail.  A report will be forwarded to the Texas County prosecutor for formal charges.

On Oct. 4, officers arrested Anthony C. White, 40, of Houston, on an active Wright County warrant per charge failure to appear — failure to maintain financial responsibility ($250 cash bond), and a Douglas County warrant per charge failure to appear — failure to display plates ($150 cash bond).  White was transported to the Texas County Jail, where he was able to post the bonds and was released.
