Houston, Cabool and Texas County saw increases in sales tax revenues in September. 

HOUSTON

A one-cent sales tax earmarked for parks, police and fire generated $80,669 in September, up $3,481 from the same period a year ago.

A one-cent general sales tax increased $3,261, totaling $83,699.

A quarter-cent sales tax for utility work was up $694 at $20,167. One for transportation totaled $20,068. 

A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases decreased $3,134, totaling $13,864 for the month.

CABOOL

A one-cent general sales tax totaled $30,108, up $1,454 from the same period a year ago.

A half-cent sales tax for transportation needs was up $727, totaling $15,054 in September. 

A half-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $14,891 for the month.

A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases increased $2,160, totaling $11,383 for the month.

TEXAS COUNTY

For Texas County, merchants collect three half-cent sales taxes. Each totaled $117,820 for September, up $7,900 on each from the same period a year ago.

The sales tax on online and out-of-state sales totaled $97,954, down $12,037. 

Revenue from a three-eighths-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $79,465, which was up $5,154.50 for the month.
