Bookends is back from hiatus and the new library building officially opened to the public last Monday.

The staff and I are so excited and love our new home. Thanks to many, many individuals helping with the move of furniture, over 34,000 books, and everything else we need for the library to be functional, we are finally settling in.  This also means I can get back to ordering new books. I am happy to report that we issued over 35 library cards our first week open at the new library.  This is a record for the library. If you have not been in the new facility yet, please come in and see how wonderful it is.  If you don’t have a library card, now is the time to get yours.

We have turned the old library into book sale central. Until further notice, the hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Fill a Texas County Library bag for $10 or $1 per book if purchased individually.  Also for sale is some furniture, metal shelves and office supplies.

All Texas County branches will be passing out Halloween candy to children at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30.  We also have plenty of mysteries for the adults and Halloween books for children to choose from.
