Authorities said a reported unruly patient at Texas County Memorial Hospital’s emergency room faces two felony charges following incidents late Friday.

Arthur Conroy, born in 1962, is charged with third-degree assault of a special victim, a Houston Police Department officer, and resisting arrest. They are class D and class E offenses, respectively. He is a Mountain Grove resident.

Two local police officers responded at about 11 p.m. after a report of an agitated and combative patient. Officers stayed on site due to the man’s erratic behavior, according to a report. He eventually vacated the property, but then tried to return. He later scuffled with a police officer, gripped a Taser and tore hair from the policeman’s head, according to court documents. He was handcuffed and taken to the Texas County Jail.

Conroy is held on $7,500 cash bond only.
