Police car. Fire truck. Ambulance. Dump truck. Eighteen wheeler. There was lots to ooh and aww over for Houston Elementary School students.
The district’s fourth annual Careers on Wheels was held Friday morning on campus and featured many vehicles and the professionals who operate them.
Preschool through fifth grade students were able to climb into cabs, honk horns and high-five the men and women who use the vehicles daily.
Students get to engage with career professionals like Houston Police Chief Brad Evans during the event.
Interactions with career professionals included some free gear, including these firefighter hats from the City of Houston.
Getting into and onto vehicles and machines is a big part of Careers on Wheels. Missouri Department of Conversation Lt. Jeff Crites assists a boy onto his boat.
Preschoolers sit inside machinery on the school campus. The event was organized by Elementary Counselor Maggie Moore.
