The Texas County Commission submitted a sunshine request to its collector concerning transactions outside of the county budget. The collector stated she is not aware of a request, but is willing to share the records.

According to meeting minutes, Tammy Cantrell, collector, did not respond to a March request for all transactions occurring in an off-budget tax maintenance account at Simmons Bank. Cantrell maintains that she has responded to all requests she is aware of.

Commissioners met with James Huff and Steve Vines, Simmons Bank, to discuss the issue.

A formal request was submitted via email last Thursday for all transactions, said Scott Long, presiding commissioner.
