Runners prepare to the start the annual Don Tottingham Memorial Run last year.

The date for this year’s Don Tottingham Memorial Walk/Run has been set.

It is 10 a.m. Nov. 15 and stages from the First Baptist Church, 1241 Hawthorn St., in Houston.

The event, sponsored by Community Betterment and Arts Council of Houston and HHS Community Betterment Y.O.U.T.H, honors Houston’s late mayor, who passed away in 2019. He served eight years.

There are several categories:

  • Run/walk with a veteran.
  • 5K run for adults.
  • Fun run for kids.

There is a registration fee of $25. Proceeds will go to a $500 scholarship and support Community Betterment Y.O.U.T.H.

Runners will receive a shirt and additional shirts may be ordered. Food will be available for donation after the race.
