A convicted sexual offender is charged with not maintaining his registration and loitering near a Raymondville private school, both class E felonies.

Blythe Brotherton, born in 1995, is charged with failing to register as a sex offender as required by state law.

Authorities said Brotherton, a Licking resident, is a Tier 3 sex offender who is required to register every 90 days and report all changes, including his address, within three business days. According to a report, the Texas County Sheriff’s Department received information that Brotherton had moved and didn’t report it.

Bond is set at $2,500 cash.

Separately, Brotherton was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 12, for being within 200 feet of a private school in Raymondville, a violation of state law because he is a convicted sex offender. Deputies arrested him in a home’s basement near the school. Bond is set at $2,000 cash.
