Cabool volleyball teammates Sophia Dotson, left, and Jayne Thompson were named to the Class 2 all-state team.

A pair of Cabool volleyball players earned all-state honors this week for their standout 2025 seasons.

Jayne Thompson and Sophia Dotson were among the 30 players selected to the Class 2 all-state team. There were 57 total nominees.

Thompson, a sophomore, ranked third in Class 2 in kills and 14th in blocks. She had the 28th highest kill total in the state across all classes.

Dotson, a senior, was sixth in Class 2 in aces and 16th in kills to earn all-state recognition for the second consecutive season.

“Achievements like this don’t happen alone,” Cabool volleyball coach Cali Walls said. “It took every single girl on this team to help make this possible — our passers delivering the perfect ball, our setter taking on one of the most selfless roles on the court and our hitters and servers executing with confidence.

“They’ve set a new standard for Cabool volleyball — one built on grit, heart and unity.”
