An inmate at the Texas County Jail faces a felony charge for allegedly breaking a window at the jail on Oct. 18.

Paul L. Johnson, born in 2000, of Independence, Missouri, is charged with damage to jail property (a class E felony).

An investigating deputy reported that at about 5:49 p.m. Oct. 18, Johnson knowingly and intentionally kicked and broke a glass windowpane in Wing 4 of the jail.

The act was captured on surveillance video and observed by a jailer. Johnson reportedly admitted to kicking the window, stating he believed it was unbreakable.

Cash-only bond in the case is set at $2,000.
