Rance Beller, athletic director, will retire at the end of the school year. He also serves as the high school girls' basketball coach.

The Cabool R-IV school board approved retirements and resignations at its monthly meeting Nov. 11.

Brad Shockley, high school principal, will retire at the end of the 2026-2027 school year, and Rance Beller will retire at the end of the current school year. Beller teaches ISS and serves as athletic director and high school girls’ basketball coach. 

PERSONNEL CHANGES

Retiring at the end of this year is bus driver Kim Black. Additionally, the board accepted a resignation from Cali Walls, head coach for high school softball, effective immediately. Destiny Sutherland, food service director, resigned and will serve through the end of the school year.

Duncan Green was approved as a volunteer coach for high school boys’ basketball and Elijah Martin and Josh Shockley were approved as substitute teachers. Karl Janson was approved as a substitute bus driver.

AUDIT FINDINGS

The board unanimously approved audit findings completed by auditors Schultz, Wood & Rapp, P.C. Auditors recommended segregation of accounting for the district.

Superintendent Cheri Manning noted in the report that, “At this time, the size of the District is such that it is not feasible to have enough employees to provide for an adequate segregation of duties.

The Board and management will continue to monitor and oversee financial reporting and accounting duties to mitigate the inherent risk that lack of segregation of duties in the accounting environment creates.”

OTHER BUSINESS

  • The board approved snow routes for the 2025-2026 school year.
  • Program reviews from food services and the library department were approved.
  • A therapy dog for the elementary for special reading events or activities was approved.
