Houston, Cabool and Texas County saw significant increases in sales tax revenues in October.
HOUSTON
A one-cent sales tax earmarked for parks, police and fire generated $77,911 in October, up $3,813 from the same period a year ago.
A one-cent general sales tax increased $4,602, totaling $81,095.
A quarter-cent sales tax for utility work was up $953 at $19,477. One for transportation totaled $19,382.
A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases increased $3,171, totaling $18,542 for the month.
CABOOL
A one-cent general sales tax totaled $30,397, up $3,211 from the same period a year ago.
A half-cent sales tax for transportation needs was up $1,786, totaling $15,379 in October.
A half-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $15,104 for the month.
A use tax applied to online and out-of-state purchases increased $9,745, totaling $22,109.
TEXAS COUNTY
For Texas County, merchants collect three half-cent sales taxes. Each totaled $118,161 for October, up $14,118 on each from the same period a year ago.
The sales tax on online and out-of-state sales totaled $133,598, up $46,313.59.
Revenue from a three-eighths-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $81,277, which was up $10,385 for the month.
