Amy Rose Stevenson Cole, age 93, was the daughter of Fred and Fern Stevenson. Amy was born on Jan. 23, 1932, in Grant City, Missouri. She went to her Heavenly home to be with the Lord on Nov. 22, 2025, as she accepted Christ at a young age.

Amy moved with her family to Houston, Missouri in her early teenage years. She attended and graduated from Houston High School. After high school, she met and married Vernon Cole on April 17, 1949. Together, they celebrated 74 years of marriage. Amy and Vernon raised three sons, Bobby, Eddie and Reggie Cole. 

Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Fern Stevenson; husband, Vernon Cole; sister, Ruth Henry of Bedford, Iowa; grandson, Bradley Steven Scearce of Houston; and great-great-granddaughter, Brynlee Jones of Nixa.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Glenna Cole of Jefferson City; sons, Bobby Cole (wife, Teresa), Eddie Cole (wife, Janet) and Reggie Cole (wife, Jan) all of Houston; seven grandchildren, Stacey and Kevin Silveus of Houston, Brad and Sunni Cole of Nixa, Tara and Leon Caselman of Long Lane, Brison and Sarah Cole of Grand Junction, Colorado, Travis and Kristen Cole of Grand Junction, Casey and Isaac Olvera of Austin, Texas and Rowdy and Tina Carson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces and nephews. 

Amy was loved greatly by her family and friends; she will be missed. A memorial service for Amy will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Houston. A memorial visitation will be held one hour prior, from 10 to 11 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.evansfh.com.

  1. My deepest condolences & heartfelt sympathy going out to each member of this wonderful Cole family. I knew Amy, Vernon and the boys very well. Amy wouldn’t want sorrows or sadness. Somehow please find a way to celebrate her amazing lifeShe lived it well and did an incredible job as a wife, mother, grandmother and a servant of God. I remember her as as wonderful person.
