James (Jimmy) Stuart Wilson, 82, son of Reginald Stuart Wilson and Elizabeth Frances Cleaves Wilson, was born April 27, 1943, in Portland, Maine. He died in his home, Nov. 14, 2025, in Houston, Texas County, Missouri.
He served in the Army at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, Sept. 12, 1961. He was promoted to SPC/E-4 in August of 1964. He did his training in Fort Lewis, Washington, and foreign service in 1962 at Hanau, Germany, 587th Engineer Maintenance. He was released from service Sept. 2, 1964, at Fort Leonard Wood.
His first wife was Laveda Jane Fisher (deceased), they had three daughters: Angela Jane Wilson Kramm, Tammy Lee Wilson LaRue and Shelly Marie Wilson (Danny Gardner). They have seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
James married Cora Mae Fleming Wilson, he helped raise her children: Raymond Eugene Kramm, Rosaleen Kramm Faulkenberry, Crystal Kramm Heitman, Melody Kramm and Stacey Kramm. There are 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, who call him Grandpa James.
He has one living brother, Robert (Bobby) Wilson, who lives in Hollister, Missouri, and a half-sister, Frances (Franci) Marie Sims, who lives in Trout Creek, Utah. Franci has two sons and one daughter. Brother Richard Wilson (deceased) has two nieces, one grandniece, two grandnephews and one grand-grand-nephew due in January.
James married Lolita Joyce (Davella) Wilson in 2024. Her children are daughter, Angie, and son, Billy. They just recently took a trip to visit her family in Georgia. They went to some favorite places for James to see.
James is known for having large family gatherings for Thanksgiving and Christmas, surrounded by many friends and family members. He is kind and willing to help a neighbor, the community will miss him as he mowed many lawns and did various handyman needs. He liked going fishing with family, especially taking his kids and grandchildren to Dogs Bluff for a swim. Outdoor activities would be his choice of entertainment, watching old western movies and a person that one remembers.
James Stuart Wilson is a direct descendant of Peter Mills – Vander Meulen of Windsor, Connecticut.
James expressed his faith with his works and very few words. He believes.
Services for James will be held Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025. Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. with a funeral beginning at 2 p.m. at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston. Online condolences may be left at www.evansfh.com.Â
