Kathy Jo Thomure was born Dec. 27, 1961 and departed this life Nov. 4, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends.

Kathy was a fun-loving, outgoing and compassionate woman whose smile and laughter could light up any room. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like tending to her garden, cooking delicious meals, spending time outdoors and cherishing moments with her family and friends.

Throughout her life, Kathy worked hard and devoted herself to caring for others. She was employed for many years at Brown Shoe Factory and the George O. White Nursery, as well as in several other roles that reflected her nurturing spirit — especially her time spent caring for a very special young man, Jonathan Boone, who held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Mike Thomure of Summersville; her children and their spouses, Katherine (Doug) Pursifull of Raymondville, Bobby Fortune of Licking, Jennifer Bever (Chad) of Licking and Christie (Matt) Little of Licking; three stepdaughters, Amber, Kristy and Mindy and her step grandchildren; two sisters, Karen (Mark) Weinberger of Houston and Kimberly (Herb) Akers of Raymondville; nine grandchildren, Briana, Kaylee, Alyssa, Austin, Lillie, Dayllyn, Noah, Ashton and Kinlee; three great-grandchildren, Ember, Scout and Hallie, and two more on the way; her mother, Jean Cole of Raymondville; one aunt, Jewell Lovins of Doniphan; her sisters and brothers-in-law and spouses, Sherri and Wallace Quibodeaus of Springfield, Brad and Rachel Thomure of Chaffee, Jeff and Teresa Thomure of Summersville, Sheila and Mark Balsano of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Robin and Arthur Young of Mountain View, Sandy and Ted Ledbetter of West Plains, Karen and Scott Safranek of Marshfield, and Steven Thomure and Angel of West Plains; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Fortune; sister, Patty Fortune; stepson, Adam Thomure; her mother and father-in-law, Emmett and Roberta Thomure; and one brother-in-law, Rick Thomure.

Kathy will be dearly missed by her friends and family. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, at the Summersville Christian Church with Pastor Nate Cooper officiating. Services are under the care of Bradford Funeral Home and online condolences may be left at www.bradfordfuneralhome.net.
