Texas County finished in second place in the statewide fall firearms deer season, according to the Missouri Department of Conservation. It ended Tuesday.
The count was 3,045. The breakdown was: Antlered bucks (1,774), button bucks (224) and does (1,047).
Top counties in the state are Franklin (3,609), Texas (3,045), Howell (2,974), Wayne (2,713) and Callaway (2,502).
In 2024, hunters in Texas County killed 2,935 during the fall firearms deer season; second in the state. In 2023, the number was 4,208.
