Texas County was in second place Monday morning in the statewide fall firearms deer season, according to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
The count was 2,833. The breakdown was: Antlered bucks (1,689), button bucks (207) and does (937).
Top counties in the state are Franklin (3,431), Texas (2,833), Howell (2,766), Wayne (2,514) and Callaway (2,374).
The season ends Nov. 25.
In 2024, hunters in Texas County killed 2,935 during the fall firearms deer season; second in the state. In 2023, the number was 4,208.
