Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said an accident Sunday morning claimed a Mansfield man.
Tpr. Jason Sentman said an eastbound 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 62-year-old Mansfield man slowed to make a right turn on U.S. 60 east of Mansfield and was struck in the rear by a 2005 Dodge Ram operated by a 48-year-old Ava man. The Silverado traveled off the right side of the highway and overturned multiple times, he said.
The Wright County coroner declared the man deceased. The other driver was taken with minor injuries to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Both vehicles were totaled, and neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
This is the 33rd fatality in 2025 compared to 22 at the same time in 2024.
