Texas County was in sixth place in the two-day youth deer season that ends Sunday, Nov. 2.

Hunters in the county had harvested 172 deer, according to Missouri Department of Conservation data early Sunday. The breakdown was: button bucks (24) and does (148).

Leaders in the state are: Franklin (255), Howell (232), Bollinger (205), Jefferson (201), Oregon (178) and Texas (172).

The second youth season runs from Nov. 28-30.
