As a result of a Cabool Police Department investigation on Nov. 30, a Texas County man faces multiple charges, including two felonies.

George C. Cook, born in 1995, of Country Aire Lane in Cabool, is charged with tampering with a motor vehicle – first degree (a class D felony), domestic assault – third degree (a class E felony) and kidnapping – third degree (a misdemeanor).

A CPD officer reported that a woman came to the police station and provided a written statement about Cook taking her Jeep Wrangler without her permission. She also showed bruises on her arms she said were caused by Cook during altercations over the past couple of days, according to the report.

The woman reportedly said Cook had taken her vehicle and she had no way to contact him because he broke her phone the previous night. She said he typically takes the Jeep’s keys when they aren’t together, leaving her with no way to leave.

The officer noted that responses regarding domestic disputes involving Cook and the woman took place on Nov. 14 and Nov. 16.

After being located the same day, Cook was arrested and taken to jail.
