During Dec. 3 and 4 meetings of the Texas County Commission, several personnel changes were reviewed. 

The hiring of Ashley Martin, full-time deputy collector/treasurer; Pheadra Venn, full-time deputy collector/treasurer; and Mildred Williams, part-time deputy collector/treasurer were all approved.

The resignations of Shannon Harris, full-time collector/treasurer, and Gianna Westlund, deputy collector, were acknowledged as effective Nov. 31. 

MEETING ITEMS

  • Weston Hanger, Great Rivers Engineering, spoke to the commission about updates on the Paddy Creek bridge project. 
  • Janice Weddle, University of Missouri Extension, discussed the 2026 extension budget and a new position created to facilitate the Health Rock program. 
  • Grant Wilson, of Congressman Jason Smith’s office, visited with commissioners.
