A former administrator at Summersville Schools will be the next Willow Springs superintendent.

The Willow Springs School District board of education named Dr. Jon Johnson as the district’s next leader.

Johnson, who serves as the principal of Willow Springs Middle School, will officially begin his new role on July 1.

He has led the middle school since 2022, focusing on strengthening school culture, supporting teachers and improving student outcomes.

“What inspires me most about this role is the opportunity to continue serving a district I know and care deeply about,” Johnson said. “Willow Springs R-IV is filled with talented educators, dedicated families and incredible students. As superintendent, I will work diligently to strengthen community partnerships, support staff development and ensure that every student has access to high-quality learning experiences that prepare them for life.”

Johnson brings nearly two decades of experience in education to the position. Before his time in Willow Springs, he spent 10 years as high school principal at Summersville and held administrative roles at Salem and Crawford County.

He holds an educational administration doctorate from Lindenwood University, as well as graduate degrees in education and educational administration.

Board members worked with the Missouri School Boards’ Association to conduct the search.
