Two persons were injured — one of them seriously — in a crash Friday night on Route 137 in Texas County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. One person faces several charges.

Tpr. Benjamin Swink said the accident occurred when a northbound 2009 Dodge Charger driven by 37-year-old David A. Doyle of Willow Springs crossed the centerline of the highway and struck a southbound 2010 Dodge 1500 operated by a 19-year-old Willow Springs man. The Charger traveled off the roadway and down an embankment.

David A. Doyle, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken with serious injuries to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. The other driver, who was wearing a seat belt, had minor injuries and also went to Ozarks Healthcare. His name was not released by the patrol.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash about six miles north of Willow Springs.

Doyle faces five charges: DWI – aggravated offender (felony), DWI – physical injury (felony), driving while revoked (misdemeanor), careless and imprudent driving while involving an accident, having no insurance and failure to display valid plates.
