Fatal crash

A Marionville man is charged following a fatal crash early Thursday on U.S. 63 north of West Plains, the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

MSgt. Scott Nelson said Jason A. Morgan, 40, was driving a southbound 2022 Ford F-250 traveling in the northbound lanes and struck a 1991 Ford F-250 head-on driven by a 48-year-old West Plains man, who was killed.

Morgan is charged with felony DWI – alcohol resulting in the death of another, lane violation, driving while suspended and felony leaving the scene of an accident. The name of the West Plains man was not released by the patrol.

It was the 35th fatality in Troop G this year; compared to 27 at the same time last year.
