A search warrant executed in October has led to charges against a Houston man, police said.

John A. Foster, born in 1968, admitted he was selling drugs at Ozark Terrace after a search by authorities, who said they found a small baggie with a crystal-like substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Foster said narcotic sales were enough to pay his bills and use it for free, according to a report.

He said sales of his prescription hydrocodone also provided extra cash flow. He told an officer he sells a third of his 40 pills and receives on average $3 apiece for the remainder.

Foster is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a class C felony; keeping or maintaining a public nuisance, a class E felony; and possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. Charges were filed Dec. 23.

Bond was set at $3,000 cash only.
