A record-setting offensive performance knocked the Houston girls basketball team out of the Mountain Grove Holiday Tournament.

Hartville junior Kinley Cryer hit 8 3-pointers and scored 46 points as the Lady Eagles topped HHS 69-49 Friday afternoon in an elimination game of the consolation bracket. Both were all-time tournament records.

Senior Gracyn McNiell scored 16 of her 20 points in the second half to lead three Houston players in double figures. She also had a game-high 10 rebounds and 6 steals.

Senior center Ashley Gilbert added 14 points on 6-of-6 shooting and sophomore Izzy Cook hit a pair of 3-pointers en route to 12 points.

The Lady Tigers (1-7) fell behind 19-7 after the opening quarter and were down 17 at the half.

In Monday’s opening round, McNiell scored a game-high 16 points and added 8 rebounds in a 70-40 loss to Licking.

Freshman Millie Mainer hit 2 of the team’s 5 3-pointers for 6 points. Claire Benoist added 6 points and a team-best 9 rebounds.
