Community leaders across Texas County are launching a new effort to help residents more easily find health, education and family services by taking the information on the road.

After nearly 10 months of planning, representatives from businesses, health organizations and nonprofits have created the Texas County MO Help Guide, a resource hub now available on Facebook. Beginning Jan. 23, the group will host a series of half-day “Texas County Travel Tours” to showcase services available in local communities.

The tours are designed to connect community leaders, business owners and nonprofit organizations with resources that support Texas County residents. Participants will visit multiple locations in each town and gather for lunch featuring guest speakers.

The first tour will be held Jan. 23 in Licking, followed by tours Feb. 27 in Houston and March 27 in Houston and Cabool. Each tour costs $15, which includes lunch, or $40 for all three tours.

Transportation will be provided by bus from Texas County Memorial Hospital for the first 25 registrants. Organizers say the tours will offer opportunities to learn about services, build connections and strengthen collaboration across the county.

Registration for the Licking tour must be completed by Thursday, Jan. 15, to confirm catering. For more information or to register, contact Helania Wulff at Helania.Wulff@tcmh.org or Brenda Senter at hisel1970@yahoo.com. Payments can be made by cash or check to TCMH.
