Between Jan. 12 and 18, the Houston Police Department answered 218 calls for service and initiated 47 traffic stops, which resulted in seven citations and 40 warnings.

  • On Jan. 12, officers were called to the 1400 block of S. Sam Houston Boulevard for a forgery investigation. The victim did not wish to pursue charges.
  • On Jan. 12, officers arrested Rhonda J. Wake, 46, of Willow Springs, on an active Texas County warrant per charges of driving while intoxicated (persistent) and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. Wake was transported to the Texas County Jail.
  • On Jan. 12, officers responded to the 1400 block of S. Sam Houston Boulevard for a reported theft. Investigation is ongoing.
  • On Jan. 12, officers received a report of a juvenile who had suffered injuries at their residence following an altercation with a family member. Following an investigation, officers arrested Anthony D. Bigby Jr., 40, of Houston, who was later formally charged with abuse or neglect of a child (no sexual contact) and second-degree domestic assault.
  • On Jan. 13, officers arrested a 44-year-old man for driving while revoked. A report will be forwarded to the Texas County prosecuting attorney for formal charges.
  • On Jan. 13, officers responded to the intersection of U.S. 63 and Holder Drive for a motor vehicle crash. No injuries were reported.
  • On Jan. 14, officers responded to the 500 block of S. First Street for a domestic dispute. The incident was not physical, and both parties agreed to separate for the evening.
  • On Jan. 15, officers cited James M. Evans, 40, of Houston, for allowing an animal to run at large.
  • On Jan. 16, officers responded to the 1400 block of S. Sam Houston Boulevard for a reported theft. A 36-year-old male was apprehended. A report will be forwarded to the Texas County prosecutor for formal charges of first-degree burglary and stealing – fourth or subsequent offense.
  • On Jan. 16, officers arrested Dylan R. Daniel, 31, of Houston, on an active Texas County warrant per charge of failure to appear on offenses of driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked and exceeding the posted speed limit. Daniel was transported to the Texas County Jail, where he was incarcerated after being unable to post the $500 cash-only bond.
