Between Dec. 29, 2025 and Jan. 4, 2026, the Houston Police Department answered 218 calls for service and initiated 36 traffic stops, resulting in six citations and 34 warnings.

  • On Dec. 30, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of South First Street for a 1996 Chevrolet van that had been reported stolen. The van was later located abandoned. Investigation is ongoing.
  • On Dec. 30, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Grand Avenue for a vehicle break-in. Upon arrival, the vehicle was found to have moderate damage. The owner indicated nothing was missing from the vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.
  • On Jan. 1, officers were dispatched to Westwood Drive for the report of a trespasser. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Scott Brown, 52, who was arrested and cited for second-degree trespassing. 
  • On Jan. 1, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of South Sam Houston Boulevard for a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, it was found that a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado had struck a parked 2008 Chevrolet van. No injuries were reported. 
  • On Jan. 1, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Sam Houston Boulevard for a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, it was found that a 2022 Ford F-150 had struck a parked 2020 Ford Explorer and left the scene. No injuries were reported. Investigation is ongoing. 
  • On Jan. 2, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Dooley Street for the report of a trespasser. During the investigation, it was found that Scott Brown, 52, had been staying in an unoccupied house. Brown was cited for first-degree trespassing. 
  • On Jan. 2, officers received information that Scott Brown, 52, had an active probation and parole warrant. Officers located Brown, and he was arrested without incident. Brown was incarcerated in the Texas County Jail without bond. 
  • On Jan. 2, William Sherriffs, 36, was arrested and cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license following a traffic stop.
